Wink The Wife brought home a little friend for the 911

The day I came home with my targa I said to my wife, "Isn't it great!?!?!" She said, "It's OK, but it's no mid 60s Corvette." Needless to say, the wind was taken out of my sails, but I've loved my P-car in spite of her less than enthusiastic attitude. Well, this weekend she went out and found her dream car, a 1966 Corvette Stingray Convertible that was fully restored (Nassau Blue with a new white top and blue interior). I tried to pretend to be uninterested, but this car is a CLASSIC! Did I say that? 300 horsies of Detroit grunt with 365 ft-lbs of torque all through a smooth 4spd manual. It's not exactly a canyon carver but it's a kick-a$$ cruiser. We've already put 75 miles on it! So, my 911 now has a garage buddy and my wife is already starting spend more time in the garage with me. I look forward to expanding my mechanic skill set in Chevy small blocks (any tips would be appreciated).
-Jon

Congrats! Sounds like you are one lucky guy! Your wife has great taste. I would consider a '66 Corvette convertible near the top of my list of all-time great cars.

Umm... pictures? Sounds like a great car. I've never been a big American car person, except for old Corvettes. I love the 58-62 style and the first Stingray body style. Congrats.

I am NOT showing you guys pictures of my wife! She loves old sports cars and she's mine! I will, however, take some pics of the Corvette tomorrow.

Technically they are "family cars" with both of our names on both titles, but in reality the P-car is mine and the Corvette is hers. She actually let me drive it today, and I had some guy in a 996 cab give me a thumbs up at a stoplight. Go figure.

That is a very sexy garage. If those 2 have a kid, what would it be?

My wife says that a car is just transportation, but she loves to go fishing.

You can't have it all, but you can try, nice cars.

Nice cars, Our regional PCA has a skills day that I'm trying to get my wife to attend. It's a great way to get some seat time with an instructor for $40. BTW how much does the chevy weigh?

Wow. Please tell us: Was your wife interested in old sports cars when you met? If not, what's the Spanish Fly?

I didn't know and appreciate this fact until the other day when I was paging through an old magazine. But it is said that the car that Ferrari was commissioned to build by Roberto Rossellini in the 50s for his then wife, Ingrid Bergman, foreshadowed both the Corvette coves and the 612 front wings and headlight styling. I'll see about a picture.

Very nice choice she made. I'm hoping my wife takes the hint and does the same thing!
