Throttle cable replacement on 3.6 V-ram conversion

I will be replacing the cable that goes from the throttle body to the bell crank (cable freyed at bell crank due to incorrect installation by wrench during swap). This is a Timmins cable setup. Can I access the throttle body cable connection with the engine in the car, or is a partial drop (3" or so) required?
