idle adj. scew - yellow cap won't come off?

Hi All

In the pix below, the yellow cap on the idle adj. screw; does this come off to reveal a screw adjustment?

I believe it does come off but I can't remove this cap (even with vice grips).....

The 'cap' rotates freely so I'm thinking perhaps it snaps on but I don't want to destroy this thing in an effort to remove it.

Thanks in advance
James

I think you snap it off, my car did not have one. What i did do though was apoxy an electical wire nut on the ajustment screw so when making ajustments it can be done by hand.

Gee and I thought I was the only one left with one of these. You should be able to pull it straight at you and pop it off. It is a press nap fit. If you destroy it they only cost a buck or two if you replace it. Most people never put it back on as it doesn't do anything except look good.

Thanks Guys

I thought as much but after tugging on the bugger with a pair of vice-grips, it still held fast.....I'll be a bit more persistant with it!!!!

Cheers
