Rear machine work on 930 caliper$

As the title says, I'm sorting out the funds
for the Rear machine work on some 930 calipers,
and wanted to know what costs I should expect.
These would be from an 85 930, if that makes a difference.
I tried to email rennsport, but it bounces back as non-existant.
VCI is working on a quote. I thought to ask here, and find what
others have payed for the conversion.

Thanks for any help

Karb

I sent VCI 930 rotors for my car. I'm not sure of the price, but I think it was was a couple hundred bucks. My advice would be to let them do it. They have done hundreds and I would like someone with experience doing it rather then someone's first time.

I checked their website and they are quoting $440/pair. Here is how its done if you want someone else to try:

I used Clint at rebelracing. He machined an rebuild at the same time. Excellent work by him!

Tell him Doug W pointed you his way. The costs were very modest and he did full rebuild, cosmetic restoration including re-zinc-ing the hardware.

I am very pleased.

Doug

I used Doug at VCI. Fast turn around time. I believe it was about $200+/-

Thanks to everyone that replied
VCI replied this afternoon. 440 is the quote, and if they're
83+ calipers, he said to ADD another 80 for extra hardware for the later years.
Anyone know what that's all about ?

Hi Ron:

We never, ever paint them. They are all soda-blasted to clean them and if they need refinishing, they are anodized, just like the way Brembo did them,...

Clint soda blasted mine before rebuilding and the annodizing was in nice shape. One previous owner had painted two them red with lumpy paint. That came off with the soda blasting. They look as good up close as the pictures. The paint probably preserved mine.

the extra $80 is to machine off the cast in pedestal that brembo put on the 80+ calipers. This must be machined off so the brake line gets installed in the correct position. Otherwise the brake inlet interferes with the rear control arm
After he machines off the casting, he drills, machines in the correct curvature of the bottom of the inlet hole, and threads for the brake line in each inner end

Steve doesn't, but that doesn't mean you can't ! Here's what the Pelican caliper paint looks like on Steve's work.
