How would I install an old style (MFI) hand throttle?

When I installed my Tbodies, I neglected to make a provision for idle air at cold start. When the car gets warm it idles rock steady (about 900 rpm). If I adjust the throttles to allow for better cold starting, the warm idle is too high (about 1300 RPM). I think the solution is an old style hand throttle that I could mate to my linkage. Anyone have a diagram or ideas?

I recently sold my setup from my '69, but it looked simple. There is a barrel looking object that bolts itself onto the throttle cable near the lever, then the lever itself attached to the parking brake lever at the fulcrum. Tension was supplied by the nut attaching the hand throttle lever using a fiber washer. I think this could be easily adapted to a later car like yours just by buying the older setup...

I have found an old handbrake with the levers (3) on it. What other parts do I need?

Here is a diagram showing the parts (also shows handbrake assembly):http://www.pelicanparts.com/911/911_...4-75/7-2-1.JPG

Thanks Kurt, that's exactly what I needed.

Just that barrel fitting. It comes as 2 pieces that sandwich the cable when screwed together. This is what the lever pulls against to force movement on the throttle.

Does your setup include the 2-3" long plastic lever on the side for the throttle?

My setup has two levers on one side (Heater?) and one on the other, like the 1/1 in the picture above. So I only need the barrel fiting?

You'll probably need #19. That's the part that goes first... It's cheap plastic, and is broken on my '71.

The plastic link #19 pushes against the collar on the throttle rod!

In addition to #19 above, you will need #21 and #22 in the diagram below:

There we go: Warrens picture shows the barrel #21 with its set screw #22.

Thanks everyone, I'll set it up and let you know how it works.
