Question Need help please

Hey I bet youll be as confused as I am by the end of this post!
'70 911T
I removed the airbox and the oil vent hose was disconnected and the thinner hose that also connects to the vent was disconnected and gone , but then there was an even smaller line that went from side to side on the airbox, and was connected to thin metal piping in the airbox on either side. What are these for? I am not keeping the airbox so what do I do with this hose that connects to the metal piping.
The carbs are zeniths if that makes any difference...

Also I found a small hose sitting on top of the shroud and it had been disconnected. The only parts that I could find around that area that had similar size to connect the line to were a random pipe sticking out pretty close to what looked like a FPR (which also looked like the line would fit on it) on top of the engine. The only problem is that the line is several inches long and those two places I could connect it to were an inch or two away from each other.

When I pulled the airbox four of the velocity stacks were zinc plated steel (I think) and then the other two were black plastic
which were stock? Why would two be different?

Ok the AC was disconnected when I bought the car and the compressor was gone, so I removed the condensor. Well now I found a thick hose that has what looks like the Ac connector ends on it and the hose runs out of the car through the right rear quarter panel and runs to the front. Is this an AC hose? can I remove it?

Ok I want to remove a much weight as possible so I want to take out all ac related stuff while still keeping the heating system because I was told in order for a car to be street legal it had to have at least a heater (for defrost I guess). So I just need heat to the front window.

Im at work right now and couldnt find my camera last night, also I almost passed out working on the car between the high temp and all the engine cleaners I used; it looked almost like an oil spill because of all the dirt and muck that got washed out of the engine bay. Ive tried to describe everything from memory as best as is possible, but if you need pics Ill see if I can find the camera and post some.

Thanks for the help!

Found the same thing in my box the first time I opened it up. Except all are plastic not metal, but two were black.

The black plastic ones were on cylinders 4 and 5
I think im going to do the insane and make fiberglass stacks so they will all be the same.
Theyll probably be a little taller and wider for better flow.

Is everyone confused on this thread or are they just in shock?

Slow down cowpolk!

Pictures of unidentified parts would help. Also what kind of information (books, parts diagrams, manuals, etc) do you have at your fingertips?

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to accomplish. Are you removing the stock airbox, if so what are you going to use for carb air filters. I think you are trying to remove old AC components, if so get the book to identify parts in the system. In terms of the heat...the heating system is pretty simple on the early cars...the engine fan blows air through the heat exchangers and some flapper boxes control air flow into the cabin. I'm not certain how the hot air gets to the windshield...I think there is a fan in the front trunk that is controlled by the dashboard levels...mine works fine so I've never investigated this.

I've never heard that heat is required or even that you have a defroster to be "street level." Heck if you can get "historic" or "antique" or "collector" tags in your state there may be no inspection at all....which is the case in MD.
