Is The Odyssey Pc680mj Battery Good For Street Use Too?

Is this Odyssey battery good for street use too?
Will it last just as long as a regular battery?
Are there any compromises with this battery because of it's lightweight?

My car will not start with the PC925 version of this battery for some reason. I just bought it a couple days ago and I'm upgrading to the PC1200 today since their distributor's warehouse is just a couple miles away from my house.

I can't speak for other people and my car is difficult to start due to the fact I don't have the cold-start valve hooked up yet, but this is my experience.

An addendum to my post is that I know others have used this battery successfully, Pschrup among others... So YMMW.

I have used it exclusively in my car for a year now. Even thru the cold of winter here in Long Island, NY it start. A bit sluggish when left outside for 18 hours in 10 degree weather, but it started. It only failed once on me, and that was my fault. I left the lights on.

I have built a custom battery tray, to mount the battery in place of the stock battery. No recabling needed. Alright, a longer ground wire is needed.

My brother has been using one for almost two years now. He has drained it flat numerous times and now it needs to be replaced. He left his interior lights on. 8 0

A friend of mine just installed that one in his hi hp 4cyl. Spins over just like stock. His brother and friend uses the 680 in their 5.0 Mustang autocross cars. I figure if it can spin over a V8.......

I've had one for about 4 months.....so far no problems. Seem to spin the motor as well as the larger battery it replaced.

Best price I've found was on eBay. $53 I think. Anyone found better?

Doesnt Chuck Moreland at Elephant Racing sell these? He contributes greatly to this board and hopefully will comment.

I've got a PC925MJT in my BMW M3 (1995).....I've had it for 2 years and my car is a daily driver with decent sized stereo....starts up every time even in 20 degree F temps. I'm very happy with the battery. I know the 925 is bigger than the 680...but I figured I would share my experiences.

Good luck,
