Day 1 of 911R project...
We finally started on the 911R project and wanted to post a few pics. The car started out as a '70 911T sportomatic. It was always an Arizona car so there is no rust but all the seals and paint were DRY!!! The engine was recently rebuilt and the sporto is actually fun to drive. If anyone is looking for a nice 2.2L to replace a tired one or for a project... e-mail me!
The car will eventually get a 3.2 with a 915 and bodywork to simulate a long wheelbase 911R. I'll post more pics as things progress. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788166.jpg This was a great time to give the dogs a ride in the car! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788185.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788198.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788255.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788278.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788294.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1089788335.jpg |
Not bad for a day's work.

Wow! You didnt waste anytime. Great pic with the Boxers hanging out the window :)

|
Cool!
|
this is going to be a nice one to watch. what color? i have become a fan of the early blues. always thought my next car would be aga blue with silver or white P scripts.
|
I am pretty sure I am going to stay with white. The original color appears to be the "eggshell" white so I may take it back to that. It is off to the bead blaster later this week then I can assess any body work that will need to be done. After that, I am going to paint my first car! I figure white is the easiest color to paint so why not learn how. This should be a very interesting process and I will be sure and keep the list updated.

Can someone post a pic of this "Aga Blue"
Any other votes on potential colors? |
Hey, cute girl friend!
Are you changing to LWB -- or just look-alike? |
It is a 1970 so it is already a long wheelbase and I intend to leave it that way.
|
There's only one color for a 911R. . . 1111 Light Ivory!
|
Ahh, good job on the fast work!
Looks like it should be completed and on the road by next weekend at this rate! ;) |
I just removed the paint code plaque and the original color was 1111 light ivory! I think I will keep the car that color.
|
Nothing wrong with the sporto is there !!! :)
|
And to think, all this time I thought "boxer" referred to the engine!
