VW parts hauler in BC

Perhaps Mr. Walker or anyone else in the PNW could use this as a parts hauler/attention grabber:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6060&item=2484005950&rd=1

Sorry if this one has already been covered.

I've seen this thing around. I did not realise it had flat 6 power!

I don't know guys, but that's wasting a perfectly good flat six on a lunchbox van! One can only hope the engine has been built with torque in mind, as much as that is possible on a 2.7.

Here is a good place to put a subaru or maybe a VW diesel from a newer bus.

No George, here I disagree. I have a 3.0 SC powered 68 Westfalia myself. It's the perfect combination. A blast to drive with the correct suspension/brake mods. Even the P.- factory build some for internal use in the 70's as support vehicles.

In the 70's generation of busses a watercooled engine is even harder to put in than in a 911. They HAVE to be aircooled. The late 70's version even came with a version of the same engine as the 912E and you would not call that one a VW, would you?

That car has also other advantages:
A few years ago a motorcycle cop pulled me over (radar gun). He sidled up with: 'I clocked you doing 85'. I said 'WHAT!!!!'. He asked 'What year is that bus'. I say: 'a 68 officer'. He looked at it, looked at his radar gun, knocked on it and says: 'I have to get this damn thing repaired' and let me go.

Regards,
Klaus
