7 locknuts? (dashboard)
 

1986 coupe, removing the dashboard to redye it, or am I?

The manual which doesnt specifically cover the 1986 on which you didnt need to remove the windshield, says to "locate" 7 locknuts in the luggage compartment that secure the dash.

For someone who has removed their dashboard piece, would you simply recommend redying the dash in place? Or is there some easy way to locate and remove these 7 locknuts? On quick inspection underneath the luggage compartment, this process looks pretty ridiculously difficult...
