Cool Strut Brace Question.....

I just installed a strut brace into my SC coupe. The instructions were pretty through but did not specify if any "preload" should be dialed into the bar or if it should simply "rest" between the brackets. Any thoughts on the subject will be appreciated.

I would think a "small" amount of preload ( to take up all the back-lash and slop) would be desirable. If a small amount, I would also think it wouldn't make much difference if it was in tension or compression. You just don't want it "loose". Maybe Chuck Mooreland can confirm....

I guess that tension or compression would depend upon which camp you fall in. Do the shock towers spread apart or collapse in under load? The last thing that I heard was that they actually spread apart. Mine is set in the middle (a little loose).

I want to keep my negative camber. So mine is preloaded slightly in tension.
