ubiquity0 thanks for the lead, but as you can see i have my eye on the above car.

Does the board have opionions on this car? What I can say is the car is being sold by a fellow pelican what information he has given is this" I, We did a valve adjustment a year and a half {3000} ago. Never any broken studs, the motor is tight and doesnt leak a drop of oil. Regarding the records, they are from the 1980's and refer to oil changes, scheduled servicing, and addressing little things that the owners wanted done, they arent very complete, ive owned the car since 1998 and i dont think ive put 10,000 miles on it. Should have a paint job to do it justice, its presentable"

Carrera Tensioner updates, current miles 70k , price $14,500 for a 83 SC

Recent Ebay 83 SC Cab sales 1 sold others didnt

On another note I went to Borders bought 101 Projects for your Porsche 911 By our own Wayne R. Dempsey and Porsche 911 Story " The entire development history" By Paul Frere ....I highly recommend both :D

front right fender paint doesn't match hood. JMPRO scoop probably means the car has been on the track (or scoop buyer doesn't know what they are doing); may not be a negative. price is OK, not a steal.

ok, i am confused. what side of the car is the antenna on? i have seen them on either side.

nice car!

911SCfanatic 07-16-2004 09:42 AM

engine decklid and rear bumber paint looks off, too.

Westy 07-16-2004 09:47 AM

That's not shadows,,,there's a lot of mismatched paint on that car. Needs the magnet test

FenderGuy 07-16-2004 09:48 AM

Keep them coming guys....do the door gaps look off to any of you? They kinda look off to me...overall the car looks "clean" i like the exterior and interior combo on this car

Danskman 07-16-2004 09:52 AM

Funny... I've only seen the rear bumper impact strip reflectors on a Euro car, but the car doesn't have the front side markers that a Euro car would have.

911SCfanatic 07-16-2004 10:35 AM

fenderguy, at first I thought the gaps at the rear of the doors looked large. But, after looking at it awhile it think it just has those plastic guards on the edges.

FenderGuy 07-16-2004 10:49 AM

Bill do you think? I can't see from the pics but I don't know those gaps look large. I emailed the seller and asked him about the paint and gap and other things

I think so too.

nostatic 07-16-2004 12:08 PM

yes to the plastic guards. As for paint, hard to tell in pics. A body shop ppi would give you all you need to know though on that front.

I would take a closer look at the eBay link that ubiquity0 posted above. Seats look a little rough, but that can be dealt with.

Viva la body shop ppi! Having the seller think you're nuts by doing a mechanic ppi with head stud check plus a body shop ppi beats finding surprises later!

FG,

Not sure how much of a "factor" distance is to you, but as long as you have been looking, I think the distance should be on the bottom of the list of priorites. The ebay SC cab looks decent.
PPI, fly-in, maybe check out the vette museum , and a nice 1700 mile drive home
