Trim rings different between H4 and H5?
 

Hello everyone,
I have an 87 911 than has the original H5 headlights, and as usual the reflectors are foggy. I was wondering, as the H4's are brighter than the H5's, can I put H4's in my car and use the original retaining rings? I figure that sine the H4's are brighter and I would have no problems with state vehicle inspection (done by a friend) can I put H4's in and used my original painted H5 retaining rings?

no, you cannot- h5 rings are considerably narrower
