Suspicious Pelican Parts Email. What's the deal?

If I had made an order I wouldn't be suspicious. I received two of these unsolicited Emails on Saturday. I'm not going to click on the link as I have had other Emails blocked this weekend for viruses. I cleaned up the body of the mail as the spacing was all messed up.

Anyone else get this? Wayne, you sending me a free gift?

Looks legit to me. Now that I know where you live, I'll try and beat you home on the day your new Momo Prototip and hub adapter arrive. Well, there's the small detail of how in the heck to get all the way across the country in so short a time...

Rick,

I've received several of these and forwarded them to Wayne/Pelican. They probably aren't legit as I haven't ordered anything in a while, but who knows.

That's not a problem. They just want you to know where order tracking is. I've received the same email at some point. It does point to order tracking which is a good thing.

But the link does have an extra "www". Looks like they need to do some extra checking of the emails.

Thom is right. I went in and plugged the order # in manually. Sure enought it appears a Momo wheel and hub are being shipped to me.

Subject: New Kerry war medal

New medal named for Kerry

The new medal named in honor of John Kerry is called the "Purple Owie." It is worn directly over the wound in question. After use, it is rolled up and thrown over the nearest fence......

It didn't bother me, but it did seem pretty weird.

Did you not order a momo wheel and hub? Could it be a present from someone that you weren't supposed to know about?

I didn't order and I doubt it's from a friend. I have to talk to someone and check into how this happened.

I've been pretty happy with my 930S wheel.

Wow, weird. I wonder if someone else is expecting a wheel, but the order got entered wrong. Very bizarre. Man, I'd love to get some extra stuff, but, of course, not at the expense of PP, so I guess there's no point in hoping for an extra shipment.

I've gotten a couple emails recently with a list of everything I ordered. I ordered over the phone so It could have only come from Pelican unless someone hacked into the database. I think the were just customer follow ups.

Just to clarify things a bit.

Some time ago I asked in the OT if someone would volunteer to have my things shipped to his address so I could pick them up next august when I am in the States.

East Coast Guys: Need your help

Rick was so kind as to help me out. He gave me his address and I ordered the Momo wheel and hub. As soon as I got the confirmation from Pelican, I sent him a PM. However Pelican sent him a confirmation email which he got before I could notify him (I guess being in different time zones did not help).

Mistery solved.
