This borders on the unimportant, but does anyone know the proper order of arranging a toolkit for a late 80's 911. When I pack mine up, there always seems to be a tool that falls out and is rolling around my trunk. I've contemplated just buying a plastic tool box from Sears and just dumping them in there, but I'm sure they will rattle. Perhaps these should be under "Ultimate tool kit arrangement"?

This is in my SC and I havn't added anything. There are a couple of tools in there that didn't come with the kit though.
The snaps don't hold it together well, that's one problem with the tools getting loose. A guy could probably take a Velcro strap and hold it together tight. I tuck it down in the front of the boot so it won't slide around. The fan belt and it's wrench is probably it's most needed feature, but I must say I've never needed the kit on the road. On another note, Can you imagin a car coming with a tool kit today? Even back when these cars were made I can't think of another car that came with tools. A model T maybe ![]() ![]() |

I had no idea that the lug wrench went there. I wish I had known. The length of the bag makes more sense now.
I think the kit is an amazing thing. With the kit you can do an enormous amount of work on the car. I especially like the fan belt tools and the spark plug tools.
