Taking off front fenders

How hard is it to do on a 77 911 and how about the wires going to the Headlights in the front. How are those handled? I know how to take the lights off the car, I am just not sure how I could take the fender off if the connection for the headlights is still tying the fender to the car.

Thanks,

David

havent done it (on a 911) but usually taking it off is the easy bit - getting the bugger lined up when you put it back on is the hard part!

rusted fasteners aside of course.

not "hard" to do. Tedious to do.
wires get disconnected and snaked out.

I did this to my '86 this spring -- long slow painful process to remove them without bending them. The wiring turned out to be a non-issue, really. Disconnect and pull back through the holes. Rusted fasteners will slow you down, and the undercoating required the application of a heat gun. So did the gluey stuff between the fender and the body. Plan on spending a few solid hours on each side looking for that one missing fastener, or gently prying with a putty knife and the heat gun.

Good luck,

Dan
