Exclamation slippery slope

Its so bad but it feels so good.

I dont think Ive gone a week now without buying something from ebay, or pelican, or some auto parts store. This car is getting more money thrown at it than a club full of strippers, yet I feel the need to continue...

I think my girlfriend is starting to notice that all my money is going into this car; I know many of you have had to deal with this problem with your women. Help!

My wife and I finally had to develop a system. She made the rules, I agreed to them:

-All family activities, vacations, etc., are planned ahead of parts purchases
-Any money I make from my own parts sales is mine to reinvest in more parts or related services (i.e. machine shop), but using the funds to take the wife out to dinner is highly encouraged
-All Porsche-related purchases must be cash (not allowed to run up credit on Porsche work)

As you're not married, you've probably got a lot more leeway than the above - - I sure did!

My wife also buys things for the Porsche! Heck, she also bought the Porsche!

Her horses, food, housing, her trucks, her trailers all come first. But, like Dave said, the wife sets rules, we agree to them...

The wife knows.... cars & women, in that order.
If I get bored with the car, I will play with the women.
She's happy I am occupied on the 911.

I've got a thing for female hips.... 911 or otherwise.

Good point. Way back when my wife and I were dating, when we got serious, I informed her that Dave and 911s were a package deal. She was cool with that.

It's not really YOUR car until you've dumped at least half of what you paid for it back into repairs and mods. Even my perfect 993 has sorely needed a good $5k or so worth of mods in the last year. These things are brutal. Luckily, I'm not married yet either, but I still don't go into debt for car stuff. Every time my fiancee drives me nuts, all it takes is a spin in the 993 to make me smile again. What an escape.

Of course, the car is cheaper than most woman and the mods they always seem to want.

This is a test. If she understands, she is a keeper. If not, keep your options open.

Yes, exactly.
My tranny is having problems so:
- full rebuild, because why go half way
- while Im there may as well put in a Sachs clutch
- oh, and a new starter
- oh, and a Wevo kit
- oh oh oh, one more thing, a lightweight flywheel

Ah Jeebus, Im just going to leave it and drive until it falls out of the car
