Ultimate road trip and track event

Good evening all. This is neither a 911 technical issue nor a 911 road trip, but many enjoyed my last account of my son Brian and I traveling cross country in 2011 and I know most of us love a good track event so I have an offer and a question.

My offer is to post about the road trip if you'll give me some ideas on the track events.

I have an offer to drive two SUVs and three nice track cars from VA to Monterey in May. Call it two weeks...

The vehicles are the massive E350 Sportmobile that some may remember from my first post on my last trip, a nice F150, an E36 caged track car, a track prepared late model GTI, and a chipped John Cooper Works Mini! Two tow vehicles, two trailers and the Mini on it's own four feet.

My good friend is retiring and moving back home out west. The offer was to drive one of the tow vehicles and find as many track events we can on the way at places we would not otherwise easily get to.

My first stop would be Mid-Ohio given my druthers. My next thought is Road America but can't find an event there.

My question to all you track folks is where to stop. Who has mid week or weekend events central or northern states? Where do I look for those events? What tracks or events or groups do I not want to miss? East coast and west coast are not an issue because I can always do those (now that I'll have cars and a base in Central CA). I've searched MotorsportsReg a good bit. It would be nice to do three or four events in two weeks. And gosh I hope there's an event at Laguna Seca the weekend I'd arrive there just to put a bookend on the whole thing...

So, who knows about what events north of say Arkansas in general in the month of May? Or, convince me to go South...

check that site out. you can search by event, track or date. most of the pca chapters in these parts use it. i know there is a de the last weekend in april at mid-ohio.

Wow, going on a roadtrip across the U.S. and stopping for track days along the way. That's what I think about every morning when I'm driving to work.
