cruise control help
I have an 83SC needing cruise control help. I did the diagnostics check from a post found here on the forum. I replaced the brain with a working brain. Here is the problem. When I engage the switch I can feel the cruise take over. The problem is, it will only hold for a second or 2 then start fading and slowing down. If I engage the switch again all the car will do is accelerate until I release the switch and it fades back to nothing. I have the clutch switch adjusted to where it is closed when the clutch pedal is all the way released. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Tracy

Tracy,
Check the vacuum hoses to the cruise diaphragm in the engine compartment. The smaller hose connects to a "T" behind the intake track that is attached to the decel valve on one end and the throttle body on the other. Leaking vacuum at either will cause your condition.
