Cool Found rare caliper bolts!

After spending several hours searching the net today for longer bolts to mount my 930 rear calipers to my '76 911s, I was ready to surrender.
Then my brain comes out of it's stupor and does a search on the Pelican BBS.
911 rear brake upgrade.
And there it is. Jim Sims has a link, www.metricmcc.com.
These guys have these bolts, 12mm x 50mm x 1.50pitch.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I was really discouraged.
How could my old Porsche use such a rare bolt? Whats the deal?
Anyway tommorrow I order what I need and hopefully in the next week or so I'll have those big 930 calipers and rotors mounted on my baby.
These will go with the 928s2 calipers and pagid pads up front.
I'm using the 23mm Merc. master cylinder with ATE super blue.
Finally I'll have real racing brakes. Thanks Jim and Wayne!

I couldn't find those either. I found some at Tacoma Screw that were hex head instead of Allen head.
If the bolts you ordered are allen head, you might consider standared hex head. The lower bolt is really hard to get to (assuming you have non 930 trailing arms). With an offset box end wrench, it's a piece of cake.

Wither way, cangrats on the find. I know I spent a bunch of time looking for that bolt in an Allen head.

Doug,
What was the minimun order you had to place? Did you have to order 50 or 100? 8.8 or 10.9? The hex bolt with 1.5 pitch is a DIN 960 or 961 (partial or full thread)
Regards,
J.P.

Don,
Thanks for the reminder about the lower bolt. I ordered 10 allens and 10 hex. A minimum order.
jpahemi,
The minimum order is $25. The hex bolt is 961.
I'll have extras of both if anyone needs some.
