mysterious bottle- found

Today marked a new day in my affair with the 73 911 "S" I have owned for some 6 years.

This rare and sweet original stock MFI targa car was undergoing some TLC in the area of the left front suspension.

While underway, I for the first time noticed, or never really took note a bottle/jug mounted behind the lamp area.

I am curious to any interpretation.

It seems to be a link or a connection to the fuel system, is it a predacessor to the vapour canistor???

Any insight would be appreciated...

Part of the vapor recovery system; also includes the activated carbon cannister and hoses that pressurize the system and then ducted the vapor back into the engine intake to be burned. Jim

The clear tank behind the driver side headlight is the fuel tank overflow. Sometimes they crack on teh bottom and will drip fuel if the tank is overfilled.

weird, mine has none of that stuff

all i have is the gas filler
and a little tube that comes from the tank... i haven't figured out what i should do with it, i think i'll just plug that hole
