Really easy question concerning auto heat on an SC

As of this evening my auto heat finally works as the plastic sockets on the servo rod have been replaced. My question is when I turn the dial should the red lever (emergency heat control) move also? When I purchased the car the previous owner had only used the emegency heat lever and I do not know if I connected everything back the way Porsche designed it to be.

Yep. You have to admire the engineering mind that thunk that one up. Instead of reaching down between the seats and pulling up the lever, you reach down between the seats and turn a knob, and a Rube-Goldberg contraption pulls up the lever for you.

That being said, mine works perfectly.

Yes, most certainly that did answer my question. I am relieved to know that everything with the auto heat is finally properly functioning. Now, if the outside temperature would only drop by 60° F... These Alabama summers are tough!!!

Both go up - they should be bolted together.
This was the ONLY option my Euro 79SC came with.....needless to say, the auto heat is adios now.

My lever rarely moves up on anything but the highest dial setting unless it's really friggin' cold out. The normal mode of operation is if I want heat to just spin it all the way on.

I'm going to chop the guts outa my autoheat thingie, cut a circle in the top and use it as a fancy cup holder.

The lever works just fine on my '79SC.
