what is that thing of the day
Hello!
I have another what is that thing that I want to run past you. at the left back of the engine, I have that a pipe which is disconnected and that I can not reconnect because the pipe it connects in is more or less dead. Can someone identify this pipe, what it's doing, and what is going to be done wrong if it is not connected. the car is a 1980 911 SC. the pipe is located next to the connection for the o2 sensor (see picture) http://hpmad.homeip.net/what%20is%20...s_IMGP2329.JPG and is connected on the other side to the CIS/air box stuff (I do not know how to describe it better), but look at the picture (it's the air intake on the right). http://hpmad.homeip.net/what%20is%20...s_IMGP2331.JPG you can see better pictures at: http://hpmad.homeip.net/what%20is%20that/big.html Also, I created an easy o2 connect/disconnect stuff, see: http://hpmad.homeip.net/what%20is%20...s_IMGP2332.JPG Thanks, cyrille |
Looks sort of like the vacuum line for the brake booster

It's either that or an emissions hose. See if it goes to the Charcoal canister.

If the hole goes into the airbox ( plastic protrusion from the airbox, not steel) it's an emissions hose to the Char Can.

On my 83 SC, that port off the air box goes to a port on top of the cruise control tempomat in the corner between the firewall and the fuel accumulator. If it was open, it would be a considerable vacuum leak.
