Advice on Repair of Pedal Cluster Clutch Lever
Hi Guys,
I've read through the archives, but I couldn't find an answer to my specific question. Upon rebuilding my Pedal Cluster, I noticed that the hole on my clutch lever arm (Where the cable attaches to the pedals) had worn through the bushing thus creating an elongated hole that is very close to the breaking through the edge of the arm (2mm). My question relates to the preferred procedure to repair this. Would it be easier to weld the entire hole shut, grind smooth and redrill a new hole? Or just weld the elongated portion and redrill the edge of the weld so I have a round hole again (I didn't know how hard the steel on the arm is relative to the weld. Many thanks, Noel

You need to refine your search technique. The answer to your question, with pictures, is here: Welding elongated hole

You don't want to have to take the assembly out more than once. I'd just buy a new arm. They're not expensive as I remember, and well worth it.
