carrera flair question.

Im in the process of a RSR conversion I have to order rear flair the front are done up with turbo flairs. How would the car look with carrera flairs on the back instead of the huge turbo flairs? Has anyone done this?

maybe someone with some photoshop skills will help you out here.

I think it might look kinda odd, but thats just because I'm used to seeing our cars with wider rear flares the front. I'd need to see it though. but when I picture it in my mind it looks unbalanced.

I think your right. How does bolt on rear turbo flairs look? Seems like a lot easier way to go but i dont want to look like frankienstein.

if you're like me, you'll be dissapointed with the results unless you bite the bullet and go big. there was a recent thread about adding rear flares using 3m body panel adhesive. It always looks easy when you only see a few pictures of the process, but it gave me hope that I could do it myself.

My car has 9" flares in front & rear. The rears are sometimes referred to as ST flares, though when they were created at the factory, there seemed to be subtle differences on each car so equipped.

If you do turbo fronts and carrera rears it will look like jpnovaks car. The lip of the fender will be missed match and look off I think.

I see what you meen. Ill stick with turbo front and rear. How does the bolt on rear turbo flairs look? Trying to avoid alot of body work not my strong point.

I would worry about the shape of the fender lip (wheelwell) more than the actual width. Also, it doesn't make sense to have the same size rubber in front and back (that's what you'd practically attempt to do). The 911 needs more rubber in the back...

I would stay away from bolt on flares, unless you are building a track car and like the looks. For a street car it will look like someone with a rivet gun went ape.

Just my two cents. Do the full 9 yards, I mean 9 inch rear wheels.

George
