Stuck Fuel Door
Fuel door won't release on my '72T. Tried to "pick" it but only succeeded in chipping paint. Cable doesn't sappear to be broken.
Advice / tips? TIA, Bill

What?!?!

You may have already tried this but push down with one hand and pull handle with other. Or push down and then try to gently pry the latch.
Maybe someone that has had to deal with this problem in particular will sound off.

Easy...get a length of stong nylon cord...run a loop of it through the door cut out, near the front, so you have the line UNDER the flap. Pull upwards and backwards...the line will catch the release, the lid will pop open. My flashlight carries a wrap of line on it's handle..."just in case".

MY GOOF! JUST BACK FROM LOOKING AT MY FUEL DOOR! Apologies, but it has been a while since I've done this trick...start the line at the REAR of the flap opening, not the front. Hope you read this...BTW, Jensen Healy...cool ride!

I figured out what you meant. Worked like a charm. Now I figure," Why fix it?". Just kidding.
The JH is supposed to become a EP SCCA car. Onset of fertility has delayed completion. Actually I just barely got the roll cage started (last year). I have some really neat Huffaker flared glass fenders though. They look great up in the rafters of my pole barn. Thanks again for the tip. Bill

Glad to help...definitely a memory soft spot here for Jensen Healy...just great lines and an engine that begged to be modded a bit!
