* ALMS Portland Porsche & etc pics
Man, was it HOT Friday and Saturday - 104 and 100 degrees.
82 yesterday, what a relief. Here are pics, mostly self explanatory - McKenna Porsche (featuring Greg Fordahl, chief engineer - the guy who did the suspension on my 911), the 2 factory drivers in the McKenna rig looking at the MOtec data, girls, moi  , Speed World Challenge, and more. Is a GT3 body a 996 body but with flares/different bumpers/sideskirts?

The GT3 is a version of the 996 platform, generally considered the 'race prepped' cars. There are currently four models -
1. The GT3 street car available in North America and the rest of the world (ROW), about $100-110k. 2. The GT3 RS street car only available in the ROW. Price?? 3. The GT3 Cup car - a factory built race car used frequently in club racing, the Grand Am pro series SGS class and the Internation Cup car spec series races (see photo). Slightly wider and lower, 390 HP, about $115k (not street legal). 4. The GT3 RSR - a factory built race car (as seen in the photos above), WIDE, low and very fast, 445HP and now equipped with a sequential shifting gear box, about $250k. Cup car races at Indy...

Looks like we were in the same grandstand for the same races. I was on the very end, down by the Festival of Curves chicane. That Formula Mazda race sure was exciting as was the Speedvision GT class the following day with the Cadillac hitting the wall right in front of us!
