CIS mixture adjustment

Hey, I know where the idle adjustment screw is... but where *exactly* is the mixture adjustment on a stock 77 911S? (I'm assuming it is a screw)

Thanks,

-MAS

Hey, I've been around here long enough to know about the search feature. I was using it for about 20 minutes (without finding the correct answer... lots of stuff about adjusting the mixture but nothing about the actual location of the adjustment screw). Hence my question.

Sorry for the inconvenience I may have caused you.

It is not easy to find the mixture screw the first time with the engine in the car. Take off the air filter and its housing and look at that narrow slit between the fuel distributor and the air duct just to its left. If you shine a flashlight in that narrow gap, you can see an opening at the bottom. The mixture screw is down that opening (some cars have a cap over it that must be removed) and is a 3 MM allen. Only turn it in small increments... say 1/16 of a turn. Clockwise richens it up, counterclockwise leans it.

Thank you Doug (and Steve for the photo)... this is exactly the description I was looking for :)

Mas,

Allow me to appoligize if my post seemed not very helpful. I have previously dealt with this subject and I know there is enough info in previous posts about the adjustment location. Sometimes you have to dig for the right answers. Glad you got your question answered.

This is good information, thank you.

Here is a site that has some good info...

Also you will need a LOOOOng 3mm allen wrench or you will have to take of the air boot to the left of the adjustment screw.
