New SCWDP clubhouse...

It's finally begun, the construction of my new garage/shop, and the Northern California chapter of the SCWDP's hangout.

For the last year and a half, I have been saving money, jumping through hoops, and planning for this event. When completed it will be 24' X 36', have 10' cielings, fully insulated and drywalled.

To make it so that I could access the new shop, I had to put a garage door off the back side of my existing garage.

Here are some initial pictures, more to follow as progress is made:

Come on down Paul.

Tom, yes I plan on a lift. I just haven't decided which one and style yet. I like the 2 post style and the scissor lifts. The four poast are nice, especially for storing cars, but I don't like how you have to jack the car up to do wheel or suspension work still. Right now I'm leaning towards an Eagle 48" scissor lift. But it will have to wait untill after the first of the year to allow my bank account to recover.

damn that looks fantastic. let me know if you need any hammering help. i could use the roadtrip.

i thought of doing the same thing to my garage, but only to allow equipment and stuff to get into my backyard for koi pond and landscaping. right now my backyard looks like the trees vomited. but am now thinking of redoing my entire home. or moving.

yay matt. we need a new clubhouse.

Dang, Matt. I just drove through there on Saturday,,,,and I thought Sacto was hot. I'm guessing a three ton A/C unit would be real nice on the roof!!!!!!

Red Bluff is routinley the second hottest place on earth during the summer months, behind Death Valley. I've seen it 120 F. a few times in my life. It makes fighting fire quite a chore sometimes.

I was just there on Fathers Day, visiting my father of course, he lives on Musick Ave.
I put up a post asking if there were anything to do in Redding while I was there. I stayed at a BnB called the Tiffany House (highly recommended) with my girlfriend in Redding and visited a fly fishing shop while I was there too. Couldn't find anything Porsche related though.

Nothing really Porsche related around here except the great roads and a few Porsche owners. Was that you in the silver 911 that got on the I-5 freeway?

Maybe, I was in a targa. I moved up to see what your rear said. I think it said 3.3. That you?

Yep that was me and the wife. We were just coming back from the ice cream store. The badge says 3.2

I know where Musick is. Feel free to stop by if you're ever in the area.

Matt, I'm a bit jealous, as my garage/clubhouse/JMHP World Headquarters project can't start until next spring. When I bought my house last August, I was most excited about the fact that the 20 x 25ft garage could be easily expanded to at least 24 x 36, with room for a separate shed to keep all of that gardening crap out of my car area! I guess I lucked out that the house actually came with some bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom, since I don't think I noticed those when I made the offer!

Have fun with the build; I'll have to look you up one of these weekends for a beer and some Porsche chat.

-Jim
