I really have not tried enough other products to give an informed opinion. I still know a lot of meguiars reps and get the stuff for free. So much for my unbiased opinion. I do believe that 3M has the best products for buffing, such as their "extra cut" compound with the white waffle pad, and the perfect-it glaze with the black pad.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze followed by 3M Show Car Wax, excellent results!

I do the following:
Wash Clay Rewash Mequires #9 with a random orbital ClearKote's Vanilla Moose with a random orbital Poorboy's EX-P by hand Pinnacle Souveran http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/...t2_exp-med.jpg http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/...ll_exp-med.jpg |
I use Zaino Brothers show car products. I've been using them for years. Also, their leather care products are great. The "Leather in a Bottle" conditioner actually smells like new leather, so do your old seats after you use it! Read about them at this link. Just passing on a intro to some products that I really like.
http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc Here is a picture of the Infiniti G35 I had last year, it's black, so it really shows off the results. Don http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1091288787.jpg |
1st rule is to never let the car get that dirty to begin with. If it's your daily driver than guess you can't avoid it though. Nothing elaborate but frequent rinses without soap - except the wheels to get brake dust, drying with cotton towels that are washed every time after use. If I have to use soap due to dirt buildup then it's just plain old meguiars bubbly wash - the pink cheap stuff with a wool mitt - also washed frequently. Waxing about ever 2nd or 3rd week spring through fall.
Used only as needed - Clay bars - 3M body shop swirl remover / polishing rub for dark colors followed by 3M Imperial hand glaze Wax shop liquid car wax. Excellent, easiest thing in the world to apply and cheap. rjp |

Well, I did the cleaner and carunbized it today...
I'm not sure it really needed the cleaner but it sure looks nice. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1091312153.jpg |

I don't know where that myth came from ... BUT, all Porsche metallic shades have been clearcoated beginning with the 1970 production models, per the factory service manual!!! |
I was gonna ask how you guys get the cone marks off your paint after an AX, but after seeing those beautiful cars I aint gonna bother ;)
Maybe I should try to avoid the cones next time. |
All of my cone marks are on the underside.

Sammyg2,
Goof-off works great for removing cone marks. |
