BBS Wheel Repair

Looking at a set of BBS 3-piece wheels for sale. They are the mesh-center type but they seem pretty old. Problem is the fronts are bent, looks like from running over something. With the wheel laying flat on the ground you can see that they are not round. The outer rim is thicker than I'm used to seeing on BBS wheels. Hard to explain and I don't have pics but does anyone know if the inner and outer rim halves are readily available and if it's a do-it-yourself kind of repair? They are 16x8 & 10s.

Hmm...this set sounds familiar to one that I saw for sale not too long ago...

BBS outer rim halves are readily available; the bent ones can be removed, but you should buy a bolt and seal kit to redo the rims, making sure that they seal well. I'm not sure if they're available from BBS; most VW guys buy them from this place

Make sure they are not BBS 'RS' wheels. You should count the bolt holes. Rim halves for them are NOT available. The replaceable kind have 20 bolt holes. ( I think the RS are @ 30-32 or such) You can get them at bobwoodmantires.com

It sounds like the RS wheel, with the "mesh" or snowflake centers, BBS America did have some of the wheel halves still in stock, several months ago, but very, very, limited on size and also very expensive, $750.00 to repair 1 wheel!!! If you look under the center cap, you will see the model info on the lug bolt plate.
