Help removing rear brake rotor
Trying to replace my rotors and pads on the rear of the car. Tire is off, caliper is off, screws are out of rotor, but it won't budge. Tried playing with the parking brake cable. When I started it was adjusted so you could see like an inch and 1/2 of threads. Now it's adjusted so that most the treads are adjusted towards the brake so that you can't see them. Still won't loosen. Any tips?

If you are positive you have all screw etc. out you might try a rubber mallet.
The rotor may just be stuck to the hub. |
Yup most times a few good wacks will loosen it...

Where do you guys hit it?
|
Try to get in behind the rotor and tap outward.

Anywhere around the braking surface. Not to hard, you are just trying to break the corrosion loose. 12oclock, 3,6,9.

Well I took a little break. Cooled off a bit. Went back out and beat with mallet. Came right off. Thanks gentlemen!

There is a threaded hole in the rotor, put a bolt in there and tighten it. The bolt will push against the hub inside and the rotor will come off in just a few turns.
