gas tank clean, but oops

Hey Folks,

I had my gas tank cleaned, had varnish and debris in the tank.

Anyhow the question is, I forgot to remove the bottom plug that has cone attached to it (filter-looking). Needless to say after the cleaning there is not much left of the cone.

What is the purpose of the cone and do I need to replace it?

Thanks,
Ned

That cone is exactly what you think it is, a filter to the fuel line that runs to the fuel pump. You need to replace it.
