Thermo Time Switch Wiring

I have an issue where the wires for the thermo time switch have no connectors on them. I need to know if its the red wire or the yellow wire that has the big lug connector? Also; is there a quick way to test the TTS to see if its working? I have a bunch of them but don't know if they work.

You need to contact Tony, boyt911sc, he's the expert on these things. I can dig up some info that he sent me awhile ago, too.

Here is a pic if it helps:

I tested mine a little while back, but don't remember the exact procedure. From what I remember, one lug connects to the bimetallic strip and the other to the switch. You need to check for continuity between each lug and the base of the unit. When cold, you should get continuity on both. Dip the end (without the connectors) into some boiling water and wait a few seconds. One side should no longer have continuity. That is the quick and dirty test anyway. It doesn't test the temperature at which the switch triggers nor does it make sure that the resistor wire is heating the bimetallic strip properly, but it does test to make sure that the resistor wire is intact (non-open circuit). Hopefully someone else can fill in more of the details for you.

Thanks guys. Looks like the red wire has the bigger lug. I tested continuity and get nothing. Car seems to start though.
