TO bearing spring washer orientation

Is the picture on page 301-14 of the Bentley manual backwards?

Whe I install the spring washer that way on my 82, the TO bearing is loose in the pressure plate.

Reversing the spring washer makes the bearing a tight fit, which I assume is better.

That is how I did my last one, but it only lasted a few thousand miles and I want to make sure that was not the problem (I think the flywheel was machined incorrectly).

If someone could just confirm the spring washer orientation, I would appreciate it.
