Which is more rare?

Ok guys I want to know which is more rare, the gas buners or the early fuch wheels? I know that the burners are lighter and are made of magnesium and that the fuchs are aluminum alloy. But which is more rare and why? Also which wheels would sell for more? Thanks for your info.

the burners are more rare if i'm not mistaken
they made fuchs for a lot longer. so nobody is fighting over the early ones, those go pretty cheap .. it's the wide model fuchs that is expensive

16" x 8j + or more

tje burners on the other hand, you won't find those cheap, everybody wants em....at least the 5 bolt ones, since those are the light ones, 4 bolt gasburners are made of aluminium... heavier..

they have they're own website / gang
http://www.gasburner.net

Thanks for the info, but why is it that I've seen some 4.5s fuchs sell for $500-600 per wheel and the 7s go for $2500 when I've not seen the burners sell for that much? Thanks for the link.

I think the 4.5 J Fuchs are used as a spare because they fit the stock tank opening.

just a quick look around here in netherlands

14 inch fuchs 5.5
150 euro's a wheel

16 inch , 4 of them for 1500 Euro's
doesn't say what width but there's 205/55 tires on em

16x9J , 2 wheels for 1500 euros

those 9's are expensive , them smaller fuchs aren't worth nearly as much...

5 lug gasburners , can't find em anywhere online
if anybody sells em anywhere , they get snatched up so fast you don't even see an ad ...

4.5's were only made for one year for the '67 S. They're very rare... more so than the Mahle wheels. I think the fuchs were optional even on the S that year. I know I've seen some Porsche publicity shots of '67 S w/o the 4.5" fuchs.

Keep in mind two things can drive up the price of a wheel: rarity and popularity.

Guys ... both wheels were only produced for one year or production contract, but the gas burner Mahles were later recalled by the factory due to severe corrosionm problem on salty winter roads!!!

Yes, the Mahles continued to be offered on the 914/6 and 911T, but the initial production run was just being exhausted, as wider wheel technology marched on ... since they were obsolete before the first production items even were delivered and mounted to the first 911T -- the 6" Fuchs were available simultaneously, and were all that were offered for 911E and 911S models!

The Mahle mold was only produced in the 5.5" size! Had a bit more foresight been used, say for a 7" model, and production testing/development/improvement done [sealing with clear polyurethane, for example] ... they might have the 'cult' following of the 911R wheels these days!!!

You learn something everyday, I never even heard of a Gas Burner until yesterday in the latest Excellence.

Maybe because I grew up in Binghamton,NY where they use way too much salt on the roads.

Rare doesn't mean valuable.

Ford Pintos are very rare these days - probably more rare than early 911s.

The market for 4.5" '67S Fuchs alloys is primarily VW hot rodders. They are the ones who will pay $2000+ for a set. They usually use them on the front only and use 6" fuchs on the rear.
The only 911 use is by a restorer of a '67 who wants authenticity. Porsche went to 5.5" in '68 and 6" in 69. The 4.5's are too narrow for anything wider than a 165 tire.

well, i'm not italian , but i've cooked for italians, back when i lived in a proper house, with a proper kitchen...
they took the risk to come to my place, and eat pasta that wasn't made by la mama...i had to swear not to tell la mama....Pino was kinda connected...

fact of life ... when it comes to cooking , you need copper pan's and a gas stove...there is no substitute , not even them ceramic fancy whatever stoves ..

i suggest you get your better half a gas stove asap, i'm single, i cook my own crap.. your not... it's a pretty nice present you can give yourself
