SC fuel pump into '73 T with K-Jet

My 1973.5 911T with CIS has a bad fuel pump. I acquired a spare rebuilt fuel pump from a 911SC. Since they both use CIS injection and because a new pump is over $400.00 would this fuel pump work in the '73.5 T?

Yes, it will work but you likely will need to modify the fuel line attachment fittings and connection to the wiring harness. Any required fuel line fittings are generally available from Porsche through Pelican. I have also installed a fuel pump meant for a VW transporter with CIS fuel injection into a 1973.5T; new cost of the pump was about $175. Works very well. Cheers, Jim

On the '73.5T hose clamps and barbed fittings were used to make the fuel line connections to the OEM type braided cloth covered fuel line; even on the high pressure side. So there isn't too much "hacking" required. The biggest problem may be getting the right combination of fittings on the SC pump and then fitting it in place at the rear underside location. On a '73.5 T I would not put the pump in the later location up front behind the fuel tank as there is no wiring there for the pump and the front axle beam is different . The VW transporter pump and an additional fuel filter on the low pressure side was fit into the stock location on the '73.5T by making a new pump mounting bracket out of a half section of thin wall pipe with a welded mounting stud and a hose clamp to secure the pump - similar to the original OEM set-up. Cheers, Jim

Thanks a lot. I appreciate all of the input. I'll give it a shot.
