paint code location
 

I can't seem to find the paint code number on my '87 coupe. On my SC it's on the inner driver's door jam but the Carrera has no numbers at all. My paint is Cassis Red, which I believe is a special order number. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Is there an options sticker on the underside of the front hood? It might be there.

That is where mine is located on my '86.

No sticker on the underside except for which brake fluid to use and VIN.

Cassis Red Metallic paint code is 80D. You might look in the front trunk, under the carpeting along the passenger side cowl. That's where I found the paint code on my '85.

Yep, Steve's right, that's where mine is on my '83 SC.

Painting it yourself? It's a very transparent color. Doesnt cover well. Are you doing an all over? If so get sealer (value shade 5 dupont) and have it tinted red. The dupont color formula (h8880) shows its an optional but, not special order for 87-88. A dupont shop can mix it for you and I would bring a gas door or deck lid (if no wing)

oops spacing is off sorry. But you get the idea... notice its more than half binder lots of low strength colors.

Look in the front trunk...passenger side front..along fender. Should be a small silver plaque with numerical paint code. May have to peel back some carpet to see this...
