Question Cool Collars-Anyone have any comments

Below is the info Pelican Parts is using to describe their cool collars -My ?? is has anyone tried and verified if this really works?

Cool Collar

Turn your oil filter into an oil cooler with the "COOL COLLAR". The patented, aluminum, finned cooler slides onto your existing oil filter, increasing the surface area by up to four times the original amount. Easy installation - just slip it on and clamp it down. Lab tests have shown up to a 10% reduction in oil temperature by using the Cool Collar. Easily fits oil filters 3 5/8 inch to 4 inches in diameter. For more information see our Pelican Technical Article on Installing and Using the Cool Collar. The Cool Collar includes a brand new Mahle Oil Filter as well.

I know someone who swears by the Cool Collar and he's no newbie to 911s. He said he's noticed oil cooling that agrees with the product claim. And no, his name is not Wayne.

The cool collar works really great for keeping all of your pens, pencils, exacto knives, and other assorted odds and ends nicely organized and perhaps even cooler than your standard pen and pencil holder. At least that's how it has performed on my workbench. Oh, and on my car I think it actually raised the oil temps!

Worked for me. It's cheap so you really spent $ rather then $$$.

I have one on my car and I have measured a 10hp increase, and it makes the car lighter by 15 lbs!

Actually I do have one in my car, and when the car is hot the collar is HOT. I imagine that in a lab, on a bench pumping hot oil at a particular temperature into a regular oil filter and one with a cool collar, while blowing 60mph cool air over them both... the oil coming out of the filter with the cool collar would be cooler. Of course there ain't no 60mph cool air blowing over my oil filter, so who knows.

I bought one, and now my wife loves me more than ever, and I'm not even married!

Actually I've never owned a cool collar.
