Door questions
Will 1980 SC doors fit a 77 911? I would say yes but best to ask the experts.
Will the glass and window frames from my 77 fit on the 80 door. I would be going from power doors on 77 to non power with 1980 doors but using my 77 window frames and windows. How difficult is it to remove the window frame from one door and move to another? How difficult is it to put glass in a door? Thanks for your help, David |

Um ... I'm going to guess "no." Seems like the changes from 77 to 78 were fairly significant, then again from 79-80. I'm sure a 78 would fit a 79, but wouldn't bet on an 80 fitting a 77.
But then, I'm just guessing. If someone had an 80-83SC, perhaps they could measure the doors? Check length across the bottom, maybe, and the window dimensions? Just a thought. Dan

OK, at the risk of giving you one more "guess" answer... I'm going to say that probably the door differences are minimal (if not at all). By 1977 (or even 1976), the mirrors, and the insides of the doors, latches, fittings etc. I think were pretty much identical to all of the SCs. Of course the 78's were the beginning of the larger rear flares, but I don't think this involved any door changes on Porsche's part.

Hi Guys,
The 77 Carrera 3.0 has the wider flares that the SC has. It may have been different from the 77 US version. Anybody know for sure? Just trying to make sure before I buy something I can not use. David |

Sorry, I should have mentioned it was a 77 3.0 Carrera. Not sure it makes a difference but it may be important.

I'm just "bumping" the topic for you Argeo. Somebody here should know the answer (hopefully)

according to my parts manual, the doors from 74-89 all have the same part number.

Well that does it that. If it's the same part number, it's the same part, and the doors are all interchangeable. I guessed wrong, my bad.
Didja buy the doors?
