What's it worth?
'70 911T rolling chassis w/915 tranny. Completely restored, painted blood orange. The car seems super clean and rust free, new wiring harness and the trim is all there. Complete dash. I would need seats and belts. I was thinking about an RS Replica candidate. It needs a motor. I could probably get it for ~$3000. The owner is about to lose his job. Does this sound like a good deal?

If as you describe, $3k is a very good deal. Course by the time you are done you will have another $10,000 in it, so, like most of us, you will have more in the car then it is worth.

If it is rust free as described, it sounds like a good deal to me. If you decide to pass, let me know - I would be interested in buying it.

Did you buy the car? A decent paint job can run close to 2-3K. If you pass on it, send some info on the seller..

Just over a year ago, I offered $3000 for a '72 with a 3.0 that was not running. The car was rough and there was no way to check it out further. It was pony up or get out of the way. It sold for $4000 within the hour. I say a painted roller w/ tranny and few issues is definately worth a fast 3K. It won't last, as they say.
