Greetings

Hey, I'm new here. Just bought an'82 911SC. Nice car, I'm looking forward to having a Porsche again (I owned an '87 911 years ago when I lived in Europe. Now THAT was fun on the autobahn!). The car does suffer from hard starting after warm. It came with a new fuel pump the prior owner didn't install, so I guess that is my first job. Hopefully that clears the problem, otherwise I'll move to the accumulator. I've searched the forum for the location of said pump, I think it is under the front of the car car. Any more precise info on this install? Thanks!

There is probably something in the search although i have never have any luck using the search. Our host has a book 101 Projects and its covered in there, real handy book to have around. I'm sure someone will jump in and give you some advice, don't forget the fuel filter. welcome to the board, you have any pic's of your car?

Yes, the fuel pump is located just above the steering rack. There is a belly pan that has to be removed to get to the pump.

It won't hurt anything to install a new one but it may not solve the problem.

These threads will get you started. Welcome to Pelican, BTW. As posted by sm57, I would suggest getting "101 Projects" as well as a Bentley manual as these will prove invaluable to DIY'ing your SC.

Good luck with it and please post your results.
