tranny balk

I have a short geared (2nd through 5th) 915 with a LS set at 80%. It was recently refurbished with new sycros and bands. WEVO internal gate, coupler and shifter and running Swepco and a light flywheel.

In "normal" driving my gear box shifts smoothly and is just a bit notchy. A very good 915 in all respects but this.

Full on at 80/90mph and 4K+rpm down shifting from 5th to 4th I am having to do all sorts of gyrations to get back into 4th....back to 3rd / 4th plane and a thrortle blip to get it into 4th. It will just balk and not allow me to select the 4th gear gate notch otherwise. It is slow and annoying.

At 60mph and lower revs is no big deal and a smooth down shift.
Any idea what is going on?

I called Hayden. He suggested a linkage adjustment issue.

Which is exactly what it was Engine/tranny has been in and out and the adjustment was never squared away as originally set up. Close but not quite right. Took 20 minutes or less to fix.

Dane,

Good deal, I'm pleased it was the most simple of the various scenarios we discussed, as I am sure you are too.

Regards

Hayden
