Options for shoulder belts in my 67S

Can later belts be fitted without much trouble? What have others done? I'd hate to hit anything with just these lap belts on.

Dont know for sure, but I have the complete set from a '72 including the brackets and mounting hardware if youre interested. I think the hardest part would be fabricating some kind of setup where you would be able to bolt the big bolts to on the B pillar. I think maybe you could weld a nut onto it, unless your car has some kind of provision for that. Im quite sure you're not the first person to do it.

Yea, that's kind of what I was thinking. Wonder how bad I'd have to modify the interior on the B pillar, or if later peices would fit that area??

Well, the only thing you should have to do up there is find a way for the the bolt to thread into, whether it be weld a bolt onto the pillar, and then secure the loop with a nut, or weld a nut there. A couple of choices.

Check peparts.com
I am struggling with the same issue in my '66. I don't want to weld or drill holes. There is a mount in the rear quarter for a shoulder belt but not sure where to get the belts.

I bit the bullet and bought the retractable 3 point system from PEP (Professionally Engineered Products), www.peparts.com. for my '66.
Expensive but a great product. Mount using the same threaded mount points as the factory lap belts (need to use different eye bolts). The retractor assembly mounts using the shoulder mount point in the rear quarter panel under the plastic plug. No modifications of the car at all, easily reversible if desired.
Now I just wish I had headrests for my early seats.
