Aluminum trailing arms

Good afternoon, I have a couple of quick questions. I've been watching some of the posts regarding upgrading to aluminum trailing arms. I have a '71T with steel arms and am doing some serious mods to my car and am getting close to looking at the rear suspension as front (except for calipers and rotors) is complete. I already have purchased a rear sway bar, 26mm torsion (21mm upfront) bars, and rear mono-balls. My spring plates are adjustable (surprisingly) but not sure of the swap after reading the horror stories of swapping them out. Logically it makes sense to do it to save weight and with all the other mods I'm doing what is one more. However, what is the best year to look for to make the change-over the easiest as I need the pins for mounting the sway bar? What is a reasonable price to pay for them? What other unknown items should I get with the arms, i.e, parking brake fittings, lines, hubs, ect? Appreciate the input and advice, and give me your thoughts on pro's and con's of switching. Thanks, John.
