Can I replace Speedo Drive seals in car?
My 66 911 tranny is losing oil and it is not from the shift rod seal. Gear oil drips from the bottom of the trans support bracket. It appears wet around the speedo angle drive. I think there are two seals in there. Is it possible to remove the drive with everything in place? There appears to be very little clearance above the trans support bracket. I suppose I could support the engine/trans and revove the bracket. Any advice appreciated.

drain gear oil, support trans, remove trans mount, unscrew cable from drive, remove setscrew/bolt, twist out drive assembly. separate two sections and replace inner radial seal. (an aluminum retainer ring over the seal pops out easily. the other seal is an outer o-ring.

Exactly the help I needed. Thank you very much.
