Unusual request for a chip?!

As some of you sportomatic fans will know I recently backdated my '78 type 925/13 3 speed transmission to a '74 type 925/02 4 speed transmission along with some other mods and detailed the engine. Touch wood everything is running fine now. The only snag is the drive on the gearbox is mechanical and my '78 SC Targa has an electronic speedo. I thought I'd solved this by fitting a Siemens transducer with has a mechanical drive and an electronic feed. To cut a long story short the chip in the speedo got fried and now having rebuilt the speedo's CB I can't track down a SAY 115X chip. A search on Google reveals some but so far all have been out of stock or you have to buy 700 etc. One company wanted $600.00 for the chip! Companies like Speedy Cables and Hollywood Speedos will repair the clock but refuse to supply a chip. I want to repair this myself so does any one work in the industry or know of a supply for these obsolete chips?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1092527876.jpg
