what is this hose for?
What is the purpose of this hose (the silver one pictured below) that runs from the air cleaner intake to a point right behind the oil filter?
And does anyone know if our host has this hose?  thanks, Britt |

First guess is the line that takes the oil tank fumes and pulls them into the intake. Is the hose connected to the oil filler line? If so, that is it. On a 84 that line is under vacuum and has a restriction in it so the car won't stall when you check the oil.
