Which Way ICV?

Took the ICV off to clean and forgot which way the arrow should point.

The arrow points in the direction of the airflow, which as I recall should be pointing downward toward the engine.

Arrow Down......

Quick Question: after cleaning does it rattle when you shake it (like a can of spray paint). Mine clicks but doesn't rattle (need further cleaning?)

Joe,
If I shake it really hard to will rattle a little. Not sure if this is enough. I'm going to clean or soak thoroughly and try again. It;s worth a little effort to save the $159 for a new one.

You can carefully pry the tabs on the side up and take it apart for further inspection / cleaning. Make sure you make orientation marks before disassemble. It will change the resistance at the plug (and not work correctly) if not assembled in the same orientation.

Connect your ICV to a 12V

As I was saying, connect your ICV to a 12V source and you should get a brief clicking sound as the valve opens up for just a split second. Use carb cleaner liberally (let it soak for awhile), then some compressed air to clean out the mess.

It looks like there is a screw hole on the end, though there is no head on it. Is this for disassembly? I've been liberally spraying with carb cleaner and shaking like crazy. If it doesn't work I guess I have nothing to lose taking it apart.
