Pelicans at Goodwood?
Hope this is not entirely OT, as there are usually some nice Porsches to be seen at this event....
Just learned that I am going to be in the UK on business in a couple of weeks and I am scrambling to get tickets and lodging for the Revival Meeting. Any of our UK or EU friends planning to be in attendance?

You have to make it to this event I went last year for the first time and it has to be the one of the best motoring weekends I have witnessed, but I'm having a small opertion next week so I'm going to have to see if im well enough to travel down
You shouldnt have any trouble with tickets as there was some left last time I looked and if not there is plenty on e-bay. Probably best to try Portsmouth for hotel at this late stage, or if you leave it a bit closer theres Laterooms.com Edit= Make sure that whatever tickets you buy includes a paddock pass. These normally only come with grandstand seats and really allow you to get up close to the cars, My pics from last year.. Last edited by MrKJBlue; 08-17-2004 at 08:23 AM.. |

Kevin, thanks for the tip on laterooms.com. A friend's family also lives in the area and they are on the lookout for accommodation for me. Good luck with the operation!

That was Jacky Icyx driving the Paris-Dakar car at the Festival of Speed in June. I think this thread is referring to the Goodwood Revival (see http://www.goodwood.co.uk/revival/ ) for more detail. I must admit, after having attended 6 of the past 8 Festival's, that there is no peer in the States. Everything, old and new, 2-wheeled and 4-wheeled, plus the drivers and riders that made them great. Outstanding. |

I'm pretty sure they will be P-heads there, try posting on DDK-online.co.uk or the Porsche CLub GB forum...
I went last year and it was fantastic, need to be well dressed, preferably in period (1940s to 1960s) clothes or at least a jacket and tie to get into the paddock, or some white overalls. A fantastic event but not many Porsches as Goodwood ceased to be a race track by the time the factory got its act together...a few 550s and RSKs out but lagging behind the GT40s etc and 250LMs sadly. Still a unique event and because everybody is well dressed it extremely civilised. |
